Today I finally went to see the exhibition “60 Jahre 60 Werke” at Gropius Bau, Berlin. It displays 60 pieces of art (actually a lot more) by german artists, made between 1949-2009. The exhibition has been bashed a lot, because of its focus on art in west germany, its cooperation with BILD and so on.
Anyway, there is still a lot of great art to see (I want a sculpture by Heinz Mack. And one by Norbert Kricke. For my future modernist villa). But most remarkable: There are six big, touchscreen-like tables, providing information on german art history since 1949 – and, unlike most museum information media, they are so much fun to use. Best interface design I have seen so far in an art exhibition. Go try it, finissage is on June 14th.
